Ways to Give

Tuition revenues only cover about 72 percent of what it costs Stevenson to educate each student; the difference comes from other sources, including charitable contributions.

Unrestricted gifts are extremely valuable because they may be used to assist with the day-to-day needs of the University such as funding scholarships; purchasing instructional equipment, supplies, library books and athletic equipment; as well as supporting faculty salaries and contributing to program enhancements. The University welcomes unrestricted gifts at any time and at any level.

Donors may choose to apply their gift to a specific purpose, such as scholarships, library books, science equipment, athletic programs or to the Art Gallery. Gifts to special funds may be any amount, and can be made annually, as a multi-year commitment, or through an endowed gift.

Endowment Gifts
Endowment gifts are perpetual because the donor's gift is invested and a portion of the earned interest is used every year for the purpose intended by the donor. The University is pleased to name endowment gifts for the donor or for someone the donor wishes to honor or memorialize. A minimum gift of $50,000 is required to establish a named endowment fund at Stevenson. However, we welcome gifts of any amount toward the University's unrestricted endowment fund where earnings are annually directed to meet the University's most urgent needs. To learn more about Endowment Gifts, contact Frances Flannery Gunshol ’67, Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, at (443) 334-2063 or dev-fran@mail.vjc.edu. (TOP)
