Campaign Priority:
Increase Scholarship Endowment

Goal: $3,000,000

A college education is expensive, not just for the students and families paying for it, but also for institutions that provide the education. About 80 percent of all Stevenson students receive some form of financial aid; tuition covers only about 72 percent of the cost to educate each student. The majority of SU students also work part-time to help fund the costs of their education or take out student loans which must be repaid. Currently, Stevenson’s endowment per student ranks unusually low compared to peer institutions.

To meet the growing financial needs of students and to provide the region with an educated and career-ready workforce, the University's scholarship endowment must be increased. Endowing a scholarship is an extraordinary way to pay tribute to someone who has made a difference in one’s life. Current Stevenson University endowed scholarships are named for family members, friends, SU professors and staff members, and departments. Support for scholarship endowment is the best way to financially assist bright, talented students – now and for the future.
