Shadow Days
Are you an accepted student who would like to be a SU Mustang for a day? If so, join us as a participant in our Shadow Days program.

By participating in Shadow Day, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Spend a day one-on-one with a current SU student 
  • Enjoy lunch in one of our many dining establishments (our treat!)
  • Attend classes and meet some of our outstanding professors
  • Participate in one of the many activities on campus
  • Take an informal tour of both the Greenspring and the Owings Mills campuses

If you would like to participate, please contact Allison Leopard, Shadow Day Coordinator, at 443-352-4363, or call toll-free at 1-877-468-6852. Shadow Day visits take place any Monday-Friday during the semester.  In order to match you with a host of similar academic, athletic, or extracurricular interests, please call to schedule your visit a minimum of two weeks before the date you wish to visit. Shadow Days are available for accepted students only.

An example Shadow Day agenda:

9:00 am - Meet in Admissions Lobby of Garrison Hall

9:30 am - Take shuttle to Greenspring campus

10 am-11:50 am - PSY 101 - Intro to Psychology

Noon - Tour of the Greenspring campus

12:30 pm - Lunch/Break

1:00 pm - Take shuttle back to Owings Mills campus

1:40 pm - 2:55 pm - ENG 210 – Business Writing

3:00 - End of visit. Please go to the Admissions Office in Garrison Hall to notify the receptionist that you are done with your visit. Thanks for visiting SU!

Overnight Visit Program
Overnight visits are available for accepted students during
the spring semester of their senior year.

What?
You are cordially invited to spend a day and night in the life of a Mustang! Whether you live a half-hour away from Stevenson or halfway around the world, an overnight visit is a wonderful way to find out if we are the right fit for you. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Spend a night in one of our beautiful suites with a current freshman or sophomore SU student.
  • Attend classes.
  • Dine in our Rockland Marketplace, our treat.
  • Cheer for the lacrosse team or attend a theater event.
  • Meet informally with students, professors, and coaches.
  • Get last minute questions answered by your admissions counselor.

When?
We have selected dates throughout the spring semester from February through April. Choose a date based on your interests - we invite you to join us for a basketball or lacrosse game, our February theatre production of Tartuffe, or an installment of the Baltimore Speakers Series.

Choose from the following dates:

  • February 12
  • February 13
  • February 20
  • February 26
  • March 11
  • March 12
  • March 17
  • March 18
  • March 25 (Honor students only visit date)
  • April 1
  • April 2
  • April 16

Whichever date you choose, you'll find two unique campuses that are alive and active. Visits run from 4:00 pm until 1:00 pm the following day.

Where?
On the day of your visit, simply check in at the Admissions Office in Garrison Hall at the Owings Mills, MD campus. Throughout your visit, you will spend time at both of our campuses.

How?
Follow these simple steps to schedule your visit:

1. To request an overnight visit, call our Admissions Office at 410-486-7001 or toll free at 1-877-468-6852. In order to match you with a host of similar academic or athletic interests, please schedule your visit a minimum of two weeks in advance. On-campus accommodations are not available for parents.

2. You will receive a confirmation packet in the mail that contains necessary forms and other important information.

3. Return health forms and waivers by fax (443-352-4440) or mail at least 24 hours before your visit.

Office Hours

You are welcome to stop by the Admissions Office during our normal weekly office hours. Admissions staff members are available during these hours to answer your questions.

Monday:
8:30 am - 4:30 pm

8:30 am - 7:00 pm on select Mondays in the fall

Tues-Friday:
8:30 am - 4:30 pm
*Note: The University is closed every Friday in July.

Saturday:
Special events such as Info Sessions and Open Houses only.
