Bachelor of Science

This unique program combines the basic sciences of biology and chemistry with medicine and the clinical sciences. The result: a valuable academic program that translates into a satisfying professional career. Graduates are prepared to be medical technologists, also known as clinical laboratory scientists.

The Medical Technology program is offered in conjunction with Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science. This "3+1" program consists  of two years of prerequisite courses in the basic sciences and liberal arts, a third year of liberal arts and professional courses in laboratory medicine, and a fourth year which integrates professional and clinical practicum courses at the Sinai Hospital campus. Unlike other programs in the state, our program includes a management practicum in the fourth year, preparing students for leadership positions.

With a degree in medical technology, you will be qualified to work in all areas of the clinical laboratory, including microbiology, chemistry, hematology, molecular biology, blood banking, and immunology. The Medical Technology Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science. (NAACLS; 8410 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 670, Chicago, IL 60631; (773) 714-8880).
